Second, there was a part of him- and I didn't know how dominant that part might be- that thirsted for my blood.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him."
I remember first seeing Twilight sitting on the shelves in my local Borders. For some reason, much unknown to me, it stood out among the rest of the paperbacks that sat around it. It could be that the credit should go to the employees of the bookstore for so cleverly setting it that way, for all to notice, but the reason mattered little to me. I picked up the book and purchased it. I almost regret that it took me so long to finally open it and read it one evening when I was looking for something to entertain my mind before bed. And when I finally sank into the pages...it all began.
Overly dramatic? Perhaps. We'll call it an amateur author's creative license.
As if has for so many fans, Twilight sucked me into it's tale, leaving me stuttering and craving more the second I finished the last page. I doubt it even took an hour before I was once again walking out of Borders, this time with the thrilling sequel, New Moon. I half expect my darling fiancee and friends had grown tired of hearing me rant and rave about Stephenie Meyer's absolutely wonderful writing style and all of her characters. Though...one captured me and held me into the pages more so than the rest (though I adore them all, don't get me wrong).
Some of my friends humoured my 'silly infatuation' and smiled with nods. Others who I had begged talked into reading Twilight began to understand, also captivated by his persona.
Still, I wanted to rant and rave and go off about this fantastic vampire to others who would understand. And so, Temptation ~ The Edward Cullen fanclub was created.
I noticed the vast amount of people on Livejournal and made this community in hopes to catch a few fans on here, as well! If you've read this far then please, join us! We don't bite (only the objects of our affections do).
"Softly he brushed my cheek, then held my face between his marble hands. 'Be very still,' he whispered, as if I wasn't already frozen. Slowly, never moving his eyes from mine, he leaned toward me. Then abruptly, but very gently, he rested his cold cheek against the hollow at the base of my throat."
Be respectful. Do not flame other fans because their opinions and likes are different than yours.
Watch the language, as well. I'd like to not have to make this community a locked 18+ group.
Please keep all posts on topic, involving Edward, Twilight, New Moon, or any of Stephenie Meyer's works (Yes, just because I created this fan group around Edward does not mean you cannot bring up these things as well!). This means community ads, too. You may post them, but only if they have something in common with the previously mentioned topics.
If you must post fanfic then please rate it (G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17? eep) and place it behind a cut-tag or link.
Do not make claim posts (ie: I claim Edward! He's so mine!!). This is not the place for that.
If any of these rules are broken while the moderator is not looking then please, inform me. My personal journal is located at dancingfox.
Q. But why another fan group? There are already a few others.
A. Yes, I am well aware of this fact. I know there are many other fan groups and websites (probably with far better HTML and graphics skills than my own) dedicated to these wonderful stories. On top of that, I'm probably part of them, as well. What makes TEMPTATION different is that in making the fan club I was hoping to locate other Edward and Twilight fans from around the country that I could relate to and communicate with more easily, specifically hoping to find some in my own area. I hoped that if I could gather enough of a group that in the future there could possibly be meetings, gatherings, or other events.
Q. Does Stephenie Meyer know of TEMPTATION?
A. Yes! Indeed she does.
Q. You mentioned events being possible for TEMPTATION. What did you have in mind?
A. Oh, nothing too large just quite yet. Due to the holidays I doubt I could gather an amount of fans to organize anything. In time I'm hoping for possible gatherings at libraries or community centers. If Stephenie Meyer goes back on a book tour then a group adventure would be possible. If the plans sky rocket then a trip to Forks may even be considered!
Q. Don't you have anything better to do with your time?
A. Better than devote attention to Edward and his lovely authoress? Are you silly? ♥ Actually, yes, I do have a life, contrary to popular belief.
Q. Is there a TEMPTATION website?
A. No, not yet. I'm hoping to make a temporary one on a free server for the time being. I would like to eventually purchase some webspace of my own to back a proper site.
